Question by bella: i bought a used car from a person on craigs 2 weeks after purchase the engine stalls on me on the freeway?
i only gave the guy 1/2 the payment in cash and the other 1/2 post dated check. he has’nt returned my calls can I stop the check? and is’nt there a law aginst this type of fraud?

unless you have some type of written statement / contract from the seller assuring that the car was in good condition. and all that fun stuff really isn’t much u can do. and yes u can stop the check. i would. and if he refuses to take ur calls. stop the check. at least then ur not completely in the hole. and if he does return ur call tell him u stoped the check due to the issues with the car. take the car to a shop have them check the whole thing. which should of been done be for u brought the car. have a full check up have the mechanic list the problems. if u can get ahold of the add in Craig’s . print it. and take the person to court and get the rest of ur money back.
