If a company has a policy of a 7 year background check, then is it from the time of conviction or time done with probation?

Post dating is not legal. As such, if he takes it to the bank before the date on the check, he’ll be able to cash it and you run the risk of getting into trouble (unlikely, but possible).

Just tell your brother not to cash it. If he can’t be trusted, then don’t give him the check until you’re ready for him to cash it.

make sure you meet him in a public place with plenty of people around. and the only way to tell if he has herpes is if he is having a “break out” or going and getting a check up for your first date lol, have fun and be safe

I watch a lot crime shows, and have a blind date this weekend with a man I met online…would like to know if I or the police can do a background check on him before I meet with him. Paranoid yes I know. but better safe than sorry!

There are lots of internet sites that offer this for a fee. Police probably will not do it, unless you know one.

I have a cleaning lady for my house that costs me $ 60 every two weeks. I gave her a check on 12-1 that was dated for 12-3 since I get my social security income on that day. I noticed she cashed the check the day I gave it to her and I have a fee of $ 37 charged from the bank. If I post date a check can it still be cashed right away?

That’s a teller error. They are not allowed to cash the check before the date posted on the check. You can call up your bank and tell them that the check was post dated. I don’t know why she cashed it before the date on the check but it’s the teller’s fault for cashing it. She’s trained not to cash a check before the date that is posted. You should be cleared of all fees and fines. If not, switch banks.

If you mail in a check, the IRS *will* cash it immediately. The IRS does not look at the date on the check.

So if you want to send in a check dated May 1st (I think that’s what you meant), you would need to mail it May 1st. You would owe a month’s penalty (.005% of what you owe) and interest (think 6% as the annual rate). This assumes you actually mail the return on time. If you mail the return late, change the penalty to 5%.
